I like this dish as it leaves the pears lovely and soft.
- 1 Vanilla Pod, split lengthwise.
- 1 Stick Cinnamon.
- 1 Star Anise.
- 1 tbsp Lemon Juice.
- 4 Pears peeled.
- Place all the spices in a small saucepan.
- Half fill with water and bring to the boil.
- Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Add the pears and simmer for 30 minutes.
- Serve with cream, ice-cream, custard or yoghurt.
